Google Webmaster Tools (GWT) is the primary mechanism for Google to communicate with webmasters.
Webmasters are the ones who maintain a website and they checks the
indexing status, website visibility with the help of search console. Google
renamed Google Webmaster Tools as Google Search Console on May 20,
2015.
Adding Google
search console to account options:
1. Select webmaster tool in Google.com
2. Log in to the
Google search console page with a gmail account.
3. Click on Add a Property in the top right hand corner of page.
4. Enter your
website URL and click on Add.
How to crawl and fetch in Google webmaster tools.
1.Choose crawl option
from left side and Fetch as Google from the respective drop-down
list.
2. For the first
time, just give fetch (for Home URL)
3. Then select Requesting Index
4. A confirmation
page appears to verify whether you are a human or not. Put tick on the
checkbox, I’m not a robot and then on the first radius button, crawl this
URL only select and click ok button.
For post URL
5. Copy the balance
URL of the post
6. Click on fetch
button
7. Then select
Requesting Index
8. A confirmation
page appears to verify whether you are a human or not. Put tick on the
checkbox, I’m not a robot and then on the first radius button, crawl this URL
and it’s direct links select and click ok.
If we are adding new post with
same URL, then we should do only the steps from 5 to 8.
How to check post is Indexed:
- Copy your post URL including the
domain name.
- Paste the copied URL in to the Google
search.
- If your post appears on search
results then it is successful.
